LBC: My Most Recent Wardrobe Addition ^^

First of all, I am a MAJOR SHOPAHOLIC XDD

Which is a HUGE problem I need to work on... :P

So, this week was easy since i'm always buying things...especially Lolita items...

But, instead of posting the random 2nd hand items I get from the fb sales or comm sales...I've decided to post a recent Innocent World order I just did ^_^

Mainly, it was to purchase my namesake dress, the Aileen Onepiece ^^

 I first saw the dress back in January & I was waiting & waiting to buy it...but, when I went to the site & it was the very LAST listing O_O I got worried & decided to just take the plunge & get it ;D

It worked out well too since it was close to my Birthday, so it would be a nice present for myself ^^

Now, I was unsure about the sizing for me, but of course I knew I would buy it regardless if it fit me perfectly...I felt I had to...for the name alone...but enough of that, onto the pics ^_^

 I got the brown bag this time...usually I just buy socks, so it comes in the small pink one ;)

 I could already tell that it was made of really nice fabric ^^

  And after unfolding it, the dress was just as lovely as when I first saw it ^^

And then...moment of truth...to try it on...and it fit...mostly...the lining got in the way of the zipper around the seams, so zipping it up was a little hard, but overall, the fit was ok...& the sleeves part are extremely stretchy ;)

I'm still fiddling with how I can make the fit better, but I'm DEFINITELY going to keep this & try to wear it as much as possible...I've already got a kind of "Birthday" photoshoot planned with it ;D

I love how this makes a perfect "Alice" dress as well, which is perfect since i'm a big Alice in Wonderland fan ;)

But this will be for later ;)

LBC: The non Lolita style I've fallen in love with

I'm REALLY into Lolita at the moment & have been building up my wardrobe...BUT! I also LOVE all the other Japanese fashions as seen on the Tokyo Fashion site & fb page ;) 

One in particular that I have fallen in Love with is: DOLLY KEI ^_^

It started in 2008, but I first learned about it in 2011 when it was featured on a Television show I was watching at the time called Tokyo Fashion Express.  The fashion was placed under "Mori Girl" at first, but later, when I was doing research on it, it had already been labeled as "Dolly Kei".  The show interviewed one of the starters of the fashion, Hitomi and featured her dolly kei store, Grimoire ^^

Of course, since then, the fashion has become very well known & there are 2 Grimoire stores now & their blog is always being updated ;D

Basically, I fell in love with this style b/c of the Vintage aspect of it...& it wasn't expensive vintage (although the store's outfits are pretty expensive)...but I could find similar items for the trend by just going thrifting~aka~Goodwill ^_^

There are also many different substyles of dolly kei, like Prarie, Ethnic, Macabre, Medieval/Renaissance, etc... So, it's very easy to put together coords ^^

But, coords don't HAVE to be as elaborate as that & the fashion has since then been more versatile & easy to wear to work or just to go shopping ;)

And of course, Grimoire is also where you can get...VERUM TIGHTS ^_^ Which are almost a staple for Lolitas now...from the popular Tights...to the Short socks(my fave) to even now, OTK socks...which i will buy one day.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert on the fashion, but I've done A LOT of research & I check the Grimoire blogs weekly to see if there are new trends or items in the story ;)

Lolita Desu Treasure Hunt ^_^

I did a review about Lolita Desu before (old review), but there have been a bunch of changes since then ^^

But, now they are located in Japan?(I think they were somewhere else before) and they are EXCELLENT at posting new items & special deals on their facebook page ;)

The shopping section is broken down into categories: Tops, bottoms & even further breakdowns, like boystyle and artwork. You can also search by Lolita Brands, which makes it easy to look for specific items.  Also, when you look at the individual items, they include quality of item, measurements, additional information...as well as price, brand & condition.

I did a "mock order" & just like when I ordered from the site, it was very easy to add the items to the cart & then checkout as a guest or make an account. Plus, payment is done with paypal, which makes things more convenient.

I unfortunately am not able to make a purchase today, but after browsing, I've now added these 5 items to my wishlist ;)

Lolita Blog Carnival: Top 3 Wishlist Items ;)

I've actually been trying to obtain my items & have managed to find a bunch of them from the comm sales, fb sales, cc, mbok, etc...

So, I'd like to do 2 Lists showing what i'm looking for soon...& perhaps one day ;)

Top 3 "Overall Dream Items" List

Number 1: HAS TO BE...Midori-chan x BABY Collaboration "La robe vert clair" ^_^

I was never one to obsess over collab items...especially b/c they're soooo expensive...but...when THIS came out...I was almost tempted to borrow money from everyone I knew just to get it...

Midori's my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Lolita model & i'm almost INSTANTLY drawn to everything she models, which is veery dangerous for my wallet ;P

But, ALAS, I was no where near getting the funds to buy the dress & decided to instead get the lovely sash that goes with it ;)  This will forever be at the top of my list though...& maybe after I save up A LOT...& I see it for sale somewhere, I'll take the plunge & get it ^^

Number 2: Enchantlic Enchantilly's Phantom Merry Go Round in PURPLE & GOLD!!!

I was already IN LOVE with the print, but when they came out w/ it in my favorite color...w/ gold print?? I IMMEDIATELY added it to my Wishlist ^_^  Sadly, this is a little too pricey for me & I would have to save up quite a bit to get it :/  I'd just LOVE to one day get this print in any of the colorways one day, but this purple one shall be my most coveted colorway ;D

 Number 3: Juliette et Justine's Robe du Muguet

 I just saw this print in the latest GLB & fell in love with it ^_^  I was really drawn to the green b/c it make me think of May, which is my birth month XD  Also, I'm pretty sure Midori was modeling it, so naturally it adds to my wanting it ;D  BUT! Of course JetJ is one of the more expensive brands, so I shall have to keep in on my wishlist for now ^^

And then...Top 3 "This Year's Dream Items" List

Number 1: Vierge Vampur Meal Time OP

I've seen this around on people's blogs & wishlists and I've debated about getting it or looking for it for a long time...but then, when Innocent World came out w/ their Fork & Spoon socks O_O An outfit INSTANTLY came to mind and this OP is the main feature ^_^  

It's a very affordable piece & I could definitely buy it sometime soon, BUT...It takes a couple of months to make, so I've decided to wait a bit and place my order right before "Autumn/Winter"...especially, since it's made of velvet & i'll probably melt in it here in Hawaii ;P  

But, I still want it and will definitely order it sometime this year ^^

Number 2: Innocent World Playing Cards Chocolate Shoes XD 

Not a main item, but I have one pair of IW boots & they're absolutely perfect, so I'd like to build up my brand shoes ;)

I DEFINITELY want a pair of these while they're still on the site ;D I just need to pick a color...I usually don't like pink, but...it would match a pink item i'm gonna get, so i thought maybe i should go with it...but then, I think Ivory's my favorite and it would match the most of my wardrobe XD

Number 3: BABY Heart Shaped Bag ^_^

This "Elusive" bag that I never can seem to save up for...

But if I can make it to SF this fall and they have this, I'm definitely going to get it ;D

I DO have a bunch of Lolita bags, but I actually don't own a nice, simple purse...& this one would go with LOTS OF ITEMS XDD  I also know that this is a "Midori" item & i've seen her holding it in some of her Street Snaps pics...I just love the metal handles too ^^

But, as I said, i'm CONSTANTLY hunting down wishlist items, so I didn't put the ones that I will be acquiring soon ;)

MINT~yness ;D

Now I've been a fan of h.Naoto clothing since I first learned about them in the Gothic & Lolita Bibles...& I've seen the various lines that have come up over the years...but, i always kept to either Frill or Honey...& never branched out into the other styles...

But then, when Mint was scheduled to come & I was part of the fashion show, I wanted to research what sort of clothing designs he made & styles...just so i'd be prepared...and then, more & more, I started loving all of his clothes & designs XD

I also began watching his online show, Waratte Nyantomo, where I got to see more fashions as well as be introduced to some Visual Kei band members who appeared on his show ^_^ It was all part of a Music meets Fashion thing that Mint was doing & all the guest artists did Collab items with Mint & then wore them on his show ^^

After watching all of them, I REALLY wanted to own more Mint Neko pieces...so, i checked the comm sales & then finally checked mbok, which is harder since it's auction, but if you go through a good SS, it's actually really easy to bid on items ;)

I managed to find 2 items I REALLY wanted & quickly bid on them...Then, while i was waiting to see if I won those, a friend mentioned about Mint Neko tights, so I quickly checked the online stores for those & found one that would be PERFECT with my New items as well as the ones I already owned ;D

After paying for the tights, I found out I won my other 2 items & then...after waiting for a bit, I finally received them XD

 2 packages from Japan ^_^

 First, was from the S.Inc site itself, but maybe next time I'll go through an SS...the markup wasn't too bad though...Japanese tights ARE rather expensive...

 But the quality is sooo amazing XD

I HAD to get these uber cute striped tights w/ cat drawings all over ;)

 And so, I quickly made an outfit using my fashion show top & necklace, my favorite black jacket & my new studded creepers XD

And then...my next package had my Mbok order ^_^

 A super cute oversized sweater that looked waay too comfy to pass up ;)

 And a quick worn pic with the "cat pose" ^^

The neck part is really loose, so you can wear it like a cowl neck...or have it hang low...or even do off-the-shoulder ;) And it's SUPER comfortable XD

 Then, a really cute Mint Neko tshirt ^_^

 But, the real reason is...IT'S RYOHEI'S COLLAB SHIRT ^_^

I saw it & knew IMMEDIATELY!! & also, I HAD to have it ;D
It even still had the tags on O_O 
But, I saw it on mbok & then quickly "had" to watch the episode again to make SURE that was the right shirt...but i knew ;)

I love how it says"MINT NEKO x MEGAMASSO" too ^_^

And here's the worn pic...even the tshirts are super comfortable ^^

Now, i'm pretty happy with my Mint Neko collection...for now ;)

but as for h.Naoto...I REALLY want to obtain a GRAMM piece one day, so that might be my next purchase ^_^

LBC: A Peek Inside My Closet ^^

 

This week's topic is a peek into my closet...but...i've actually already done a wardrobe post earlier...& I'm always posting my new items, so instead...I shall cover "Themes" that are seen in my Wardrobe ^_^

First: Alice in Wonderland:

Almost immediately when I started getting into wearing Lolita, I loved almost ALL of the AiW prints ;D I don't own all of them though b/c some of them have too much Pink elements in them, which i don't care for.  BUT, Luckily, there were lots of non-pink prints as well & I managed to snag some of them ^^

Infanta Alice print dress (I think it's a replica)

I bought this from an ebay site as a Bday gift for myself ^^ As this was before I knew any of the Japanese brands, I was very excited to own it & there was also a matching headbow available, so I bought the set ;)  Even though it's not a main Brand, I still love this dress a lot & have worn it many times for Photoshoots ;D

BTSSB Alice in Funfair:

I saw this dress on Closet Child (which is where a lot of my pieces are from) and actually, I almost didn't buy it...mainly b/c I was unsure if I liked the print or not...But then, I had just finished embellishing a bag & realized that it would look perfect with the dress ;D So, I gave in & bought it & now it's one of my most worn pieces in my closet ^^

BTSSB Alice's Mirage in Paradox ^_^

I did a whole post about this, but my OBSESSION with this print started when I first saw it on the Baby SF blog/fb page...& they would post amazing coords using it & the print was in one of the GLBs, so I decided I had to have it XD  It's a little different b/c the focus is on the Tweedles, but the checkered pattern & color drew me in regardless...I even got the skirt in the same colorway ;)

 

Second: TEDDY BEARS ^_^

ALL of my friends know by now my LOVE of all Teddy Bear things and since starting Lolita, it's just grown more & more...spreading to jewelry & bags & socks ;P

Innocent World has sooo many Bear Prints, it's so hard to pick a favorite, but I managed to find 2 I really like ;D On the left is the Sweets Teddy Bear print jsk, which I got after selling another bear print jsk...but I've worn it for outings & even to my family's xmas party ;) 

On the right is Museum Bear jsk, which I bought from the IW online site during one of the sales...I originally wanted the blue one at first, but the beige grew on me quickly & I really love the long length. 

 And then...here are some Teddy Bear shaped & printed bags I have

I just got the white Metamorphose one from CC and my friend gave me the brown bear backpack for my present ^^ The bear printed tote bag was found at Goodwill, where I also like to look for stuffed animal bears ;D

And then Third: Religious prints

I've always been a fan of crosses, but only recently, I've been drawn to these religious prints featuring the virgin mary or even angel/cherub themes.

Which is why...my first purchase of this theme was the BEAUTIFUL Moi Meme Moitie Stained Glass print underbust corset jsk.  I saw the print in a GLB & immediately fell in love with it...especially the white version ^^  So, when I saw someone selling it on the comm sales, I HAD to get it ;)  It's definitely one of the most expensive pieces I own, but totally worth it ^_^

My 2nd most expensive piece is the other religious theme jsk: L'anonciation from Juliette et Justine

This was ALSO a print I first saw in the GLB and immediately fell in love with.  I went through Rakuten to reserve it & even though I had to wait A WHILE for it...I was very satisfied with the overall quality & color/print when it finally came ^^

 And what to wear with these dresses...Rosaries ^_^ My collection of these have been slowly growing, ranging from offbrand ones to my AATP Rosary I got from the same seller as the MMM jsk XD

I hope you enjoyed the peek into my closet & the way I displayed the dresses is actually how I keep them hanging in the closet ^^

The Red Violin ;D

Every once in a while, I'll see an AMAZING Lolita item that I just NEED to have ;D

Even better is when a complete outfit comes to mind after seeing the item ^_^

For me, that item was a BEAUTIFUL Red Violin Shaped Bag ^^

First of all, I have been a Band Geek from Intermediate to almost my last year of college, just about 12 years ;)

So, even though I played a Clarinet & Not a Violin...I was drawn to the idea of an instrument shaped bag :D 

And the best part was that I was JUST about to purchase a cute Lolita skirt that had music notes & instruments, so I thought "HOW PERFECT ^_^ "

I got the skirt first:

 It's from Bodyline & I remember when the print first came out, I wanted it...but I decided to get a different dress at the time...but always kept it in mind...Then, someone was selling both the red & black skirts...& originally I wanted the black...but b/c I was getting a red bag, I decided to go with red ^_^

I also tried it on that day with my at home outfit (& i threw on my boots for fun)

So, now I just had to wait for the bag...it's an unusual shape, so the seller had to rethink packaging, but she was so nice & actually didn't charge me very much for the shipping & even though it took a while to come, it was TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT XDD

And now, Pics of the packaging & bag ^^

 the seller used 2 packages for extra protection ^^

 And it looks like it worked b/c the bag is in PERFECT CONDITION!

 Here's the inside...a little oddly shaped, but i know i can fit my phone & wallet at least...& there's a small pocket inside ^^

The bag also comes with 2 straps XD

And there it is, my new Violin bag...which is a perfect addition to my collection...I actually have a lot of reds in my Lolita Wardrobe ^^

And then, my 2nd reason...THE MOVIE OF COURSE ^_^

It was made in 1998, but I didn't get to watch it until last year...my brother "made" me watch it...AND...i'm really glad he did XD

It's actually a very dramatic & depressing movie, but it was sooo good & as sad as it was, I LOVED the storyline ^^

Another fun thing is that my Mom used to play the violin in Intermediate, so she was showing me how to hold it...as well as showing how my bag isn't accurate, but i'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be ;P

In an earlier post, I showed that I have a black & white violin bag from Lady Sloth Shop, but I actually don't have much to match it...just one of my bodyline dresses match perfectly, so...that might be enough to hold onto it for a while longer...BUT...I DEFINITELY want to keep this red one as long as I can...Hopefully I can do a lovely coord with it soon...& maybe a photoshoot ^_^
