Lolita Wardrobe Post 2017

I somehow skipped last year...probably b/c i was sick...so I think I only posted pics to my fb album...but This Year I decided I MUST make a proper Lolita Wardrobe Post! And take actual individual piece pics ;D

The main reason is so I can reevaluate everything and have good pictures for if I decide to sell anything ;P Compared to my last one is 2015 & even last year, there have been A LOT of things I've bought & then quickly sold, but I guess that's just part of being a Lolita...never know how it looks on until you buy it & try out an outfit XD

Anyways, I have A LOT of pics, so here we go!!

So, when I got back from my Japan trip in June...I promised my mom I'd do the Konmari tidying method for all my items...so naturally Lolita was one of the first things I attacked ;) And now my closet is nice & organized...by color...mostly ;)

but I decided to post by Category, so up first

Dresses:

 

Old Bodyline dress set I bought from a local Lolita a while ago and it's too amazing!!

It comes with a dress, hooded capelet and the sleeves are detachable!! 

 Ultimate Wishlist item! AATP Hymn OP in Ivory ^_^ (2009)

I think I first saw it on a store blog post...but then I saw Midori wore it for one of the Keras and I decided I needed it XD One problem, it's old AATP, so measurements were Insane O_O but after first owning the skirt...I decided I wanted to just Try out the OP b/c u never know...and! I fit it! I don't know how, but that's all that matters XDD

I commissioned this OP from my friend as an early birthday gift for myself, but I ended up wearing it to a very important tea party where we had the Triple Fortune designers as guests!! And the best part is they Loved the dress, so I could tell my friend ^_^

 

This h.Naoto Frill dress was on a "secret" wishlist of mine, so when I saw it on the auctions for a really good price, I snatched it up ^_^ and then later, I randomly found the matching bolero on the auctions!! The details on this dress is sooo amazing in person and it's the one Sailor style piece I own ;)

AATP's Masquerade Theater (2010) was my Very First Brand purchase! I had gotten the GLB from a friend and I saw the print & fell in Love ^_^ And back then, the ordering system was different, but I managed to buy from the Japanese site and everything went well ;D 

The inspiration for this piece is the Phantom of the Opera, which is a favorite of mine, so even more so I needed it ^_^

AATP Vampire Forest (2010): I actually got this dress in a random trade...& surprisingly...it ended up fitting me Really well ^_^ I even wore it to work for Halloween, so it's very comfortable!

This is my 2nd piece from them (both "nun-like") & I just love the look of the dress & the detachable bib!

Lief Regimental Instruments in Teal x Maroon (2013)

Back before Lief was too popular, I ordered this & even messaged the designer on fb to ask some sizing questions ;) Naturally, it's one of my favorite pieces and I can wear it casually as well ^^

IW Teddy Bear Stamp OP (2015)

It's Teddy Bears...enough said ;) But, really, the subtle details on this is great, the little ribbons are sewn on ;D 

This is also one of my most comfortable dresses, so I wear it a lot...at home lounging ;D

IW Aileen OP in blue (2012)

My Namesake Dress!! Plus, Alice looking! I HAD to have it!! But, sadly, the measurements were a little small at the time I bought it...although now it fits great, so I can wear it more ^_^ 

 Atelier Pierrot OP...(will look up name & date again...it's in a GLB) Basically, at a local convention, Yuko san told me the bib was detachable and I was SOLD! ;)

Magical Holic Romantic Ribbon dress & choker (2015)

bought on my first trip to Japan when I checked out Closet Child ^_^

It was found on the "gothic" floor in a sea of black...would be me to buy the one Lavender piece XD

So, purple is my favorite color...& sadly I don't have too many Lolita pieces...but...I have a bunch of purple x black ones from h.Naoto's Honey line ;D That last dress has a fun story: It originally belonged to a friend of mine...& I guess I found out too late that she was selling it, so I missed out...and then...I saw it on someone's sales post & bought it...and it turned out she was the one who bought it from my friend XDD So, in the end, I think it was meant to come to me ;D

h.Honey coverup found much later than my other honey pieces ;) I miss this collection...I need more ^_^

BTSSB Antique Lace Doll JSK (2013)

Apparently It came out in a BILLION colors, so even though I originally wanted the green one, I ended up getting the wine b/c I needed it for a Lolitafied cosplay and other inspired outfits ;D

I also really love velvet...even though that's not the best fabric choice for here in Hawaii XD

I'll say this first: I never watched this series XDD

But...I ended up using this dress to Lolitafy a different character and it matches her perfectly ^_^

Atelier Pierrot Limitless(I think) dress in Green (2016)

This dress was actually a special one made for the Fashion Night Out event in Japan and it's yet Another one I'm using for Lolifying characters ;)

It also looks amazing on my dress form ^_^

This was my first & only attempt at making a JSK and it was rough for me...I took sewing in college, but i'm still not good with using certain techniques, so there's all kinds of flaws...but...I still really love this piece and I can Still fit it ^_^ (2009)

 My failed first Lolita sewing project, trying to follow the pattern in the GLB...but my measurements were all off, so it ended up being less a-line...but it's still comfortable & I wear it to family functions ;)

So then last year we had h.Naoto at our convention & I jokingly told a friend that if they have the bear/book print, i'd buy it...and then I went the first day...and FOUND IT!!!!! I never bought a skirt so quickly XDD

And then, naturally I wore the skirt the next day to watch the fashion show ^_^

Also, the same friend saw the matching top online & showed me ;D

As a fun thing I added the release dates for the main pieces b/c the latest thing has been about "Old School" Items...but...I didn't get into the fashion until after college, so that's probably why a lot of my pieces are around there & after ^_^

2017 Lolita Year in Review ^^

It's super late, but while I was thinking of starting my Wardrobe post soon...I decided to write this blog first about last year's Lolita experiences ^^

And the main reason for this is b/c I went through a lot of very different challenges...both in fashion...and also in my personal life...

The biggest is that from Dec 2015 up to Jan 1, I was dealing with new & unfamiliar health issues...

And so, during the beginning half of the year I struggled with it and certain outings were cut short or I decided not to go due to my health...and of course, my fashion kept changing as well...

But, luckily, I've gotten used to certain things & as long as I stay aware of my condition, I've managed to enjoy the 2nd half of 2016 & could go to more & more Lolita events ^^

I'll discuss a bit throughout the blog, but let's get to pictures ;)

This was from a very special Jan meetup with my local community as we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary ^_^ So, I went all out with layers, wig, tights, accessories, etc etc...& I won the best outfit voted by the attendees, so I was very surprised, but happy & having a great time ^_^

Also, our special guest was Rin Rin Doll, who was so cute & friendly in person...

but then...about halfway through...i started feeling sick...and weak...and sadly, i ended up leaving the meetup Very early and couldn't even be part of the big group picture...

but that was just the start...I still don't know exactly what happened, but in the end of 2015 there was a stomach virus going around, so I think I caught it and it stayed with me into the new year...

I dressed up casually in a belated Vday outfit, but ended up changing after a short while...
Then, when I was feeling a bit better healthwise, sometime after chinese new year, I tried to go to smaller meetups and made sure to choose my outfits carefully, making sure I wasn't too constricted and that I kept hydrated and cool and it seemed to go pretty well...luckily it was a coolish day ;) 

Plus, I did boystyle, so I could use a shorter wig & not have to worry about a petticoat and I could wear loose & comfy pieces ^^
 

Then in March was our Harajuku Fashion Walk & I was already feeling much better healthwise and could really enjoy myself...which is good b/c there were sooo many great Lolita events after!

So, enough of the dramaticness and here's the rest of my year ^_^

Kawaii Kon was AMAZING with h.Naoto as our guest & our tea party with him was so much fun!!

And right after Kon...there was a trip to California to attend my cousin's wedding ^^
Yes, I was VERY worried about flying after all my health issues...and i did ok, but probably only b/c it was a short-ish trip...but i was Not prepared for the weather O_O Even though it was sunny, wearing this thicker bolero felt really comfortable ^^

And right after California, I had another Bigger trip coming up...but before that, I got to check out the new Alice movie ^^

Then enjoyed a Karaoke outing where I collaborated with a friend to twin with me ;D

& Finally! My big 2nd trip...TO JAPAN ^_^
And...sadly...weather & other issues prevented me from wearing Lolita this trip, but I still had an amazing time & still bought Lolita pieces...although it ended up being more a trip for my Otakuness ;D

Then, after the trip, another AMAZING meetup...the TRIPLE FORTUNE designers came down for a tea party/fashion show and the experience was soooooooooo Incredible! I had seen them before the previous year, but didn't interact with them much, but this time they talked to everyone and of course I HAD to get a beautiful pic with them XD

One of the coolest things is my friend made the dress & hairpiece that I wore to the party & the designers LOVED IT!! They also praised my coord, which made me Really Happy ^_^

Then, the following month was my friend & photog, Angel's Wedding Celebrations and I was invited to her amazingly Gothic Bridal shower and Wedding ^_^

Both events were so much fun and I had fun going all out in black & red XD

And later in the month, we had another mini meetup, so I decided to wear some recent purchases ;)

A GIANT project of mine was to use the Konmari Tidying method and on one of the days I decided to randomly dress up ;) But I recommend this method to anyone who wants to do serious closet purging & organizing...& it feels great when everything's nice & clean ^^

Then a few more dressing up days at home ;) 
First was to hang out with a friend 
2nd was me wanting to try on new purchases! (a photoshoot for the bear dress will come...eventually XD)
3rd was for another random hanging out with a friend at the mal(it was national cat day ^^ )

On Halloween I actually wore Lolita at work & it was fine & this dress is super comfortable...for me sitting at my desk ;P & some moving around (the shoes were only for pics though XD)

When fall came, I had decided to enter a coordinate contest for fun & actually won a separate prize, which I was very excited about ^^
(this was a group shoot with a fellow Lolita friend & photog Angel ^^ )

Then, ILD came!! and I used it as an excuse to wear ALL MY NEW PURCHASES!! 
My outfit was pretty different, but I had fun playing with light layers, colors & accessories ^_^

And then...Christmas Eve! ^_^ We always have a family party and a few years ago I started wearing Lolita to it, so now my relatives just expect it of me...but before the party I had a mini meetup with some friends for dim sum & picture taking ^^

 Then, b/c my photog wanted to get one more photoshoot with the christmas lights...I decided to do a dream (Lolitafied) cosplay of mine: Sieglinde from Kuroshitsuji ^_^
And I think the outfit came out really well ^_^ Plus, we had a cool "winter" season, so I could wear more layers XDD

And that's IT!! I really thought I had dressed up less last year b/c of my issues, but I guess once I got over them, I went crazy again ;D

But! Next up will be my somewhat late Wardrobe Post and the thing to note is how many pieces from this post you DON'T SEE in my now wardrobe :3 I did quite a bit of selling amidst all the buying...and i'm still selling and buying things, so by the time I get to it, items might change again...but...that's pretty typical for this fashion nowadays ^_^

I'm just so glad that I can still wear all these pretty Lolita outfits and even though I have to be pickier about things, I'm still able to dress up & hang out with my fellow Lolitas ^^

Lief Celestial Series ^_^

I saw this print posted on Lief's fb page & tumblr & I INSTANTLY fell in love ^_^

I had Just gotten a pair of Celestial tights & was debating what I could wear with it and then I saw the print & Knew I had to get it ;)

Picking a color was hard, but as my tights were a light blue, I figured I should go with blue...and after changing my order a little bit (I added an item that was a gift for a friend), I put in my order & patiently waited ^^

And then...my package came, the usual pink box that I INSTANTLY recognize as Lief ;)

Included was a letter, postcard of the latest print & some extra snack goodies (Korean, of course ^^ )

And I had a big coord planned out, but kept missing meetups, so b/c i'm doing a 30 day Lolita Challenge suggested to me by a friend...I wore it on a "random dress up day" where I dress in Lolita at home...just for fun ^_^

So, here it is: Celestial Cat theme b/c Feb 22 is National Cat Day for Japan...& I know how much Sora(Lief's designer) loves cats ;D

I have LOTS of other ideas for this dress(like with my tights) and I can't wait to finally wear this out somewhere ^^

My LOVE of Collab items ^_^

After looking at my Wardrobe post, I noticed I have Quite a bit of brand Collab items, either with Anime or an artist, model, etc ^^

So, I thought I'd post them all seprately to keep track of what I have ^_^

1) Mint Neko x Ryohei(Megamasso) tshirt

My very first collab item happened by chance ;)

When Mint Neko came to Kawaii Kon, I was doing research on him...afterwards (fail) & I found his show where he had vkei musicians come on his show & show off the shirts they collaborated with him on ^_^

And so...after watching Ryohei from Megamasso's episode, I was randomly looking through the Japanese auctions & saw...Ryohei's collab shirt for a really good deal O_O So, kind of impulse, but I msgd my SS to put in my bid & when I got the shirt I realized it still had the tags, so it's pretty close to being in new condition XDD

I've only worn it as a street fashion piece, but I love it a lot & a bunch of people comment on it...mainly to ask what the print is...i'm not even sure myself, it's a cat with a spider web? some flowers & stars? hehe, but I try to wear my Mint Neko necklace with it and once I used my Chocomint star clip ^^

2) BABY x Midori's La escharpe vert clair

I was already a HUGE fan of Midori's when it was announced that she collaborated with BABY, so OF COURSE I wanted something...but of course, i was pretty poor from whatever other shopping I did previously...sigh...BUT! I was Determined to own something from her series, so I managed to buy the "Sash" through an SS ^^

And I was still sad I couldn't afford the dress, but...this is actually a scarf that they made into a sash & it's soooo beautiful & delicate in person ^_^

Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to wear it out, either as a sash or scarf...but one day I'd like to make an amazing coord with it XD

3) Pullip x Midori 

I'm going to skip ahead a bit since I just talked about Midori's collab, a while later...it was announced that Midori in her Glorious collab outfit would be made into a Pullip Doll!!! 

So, of course I needed it & I started ordering from a certain site that does preorders, so I quickly added her on (& put in an order for a fellow Lolita & Midori fan) ^^

And then, when the release date finally came, I got invoiced, paid right away and then...the dolls came ^_^

And she's just soooo perfect in every way ^_^

And...I already had a friend for her, lovely Bonita ^^

4) BTSSB x Ranka Macross JSK

Now THIS was definitely an impulse, surprise buy...I found it randomly on CC and it was for a decent price...plus, halloween was coming up, so I figured I could use it for a cosplay halloween shoot...

but...during this time was when Closet Child was being SWAMPED with orders...so they did away with the "hold system", but my order got in right before then, but they were still really backed up...so the dress came maybe RIGHT before Halloween...but i didn't have enough time to plan anything...so it became a Christmas dress instead ^^

I also had the matching headbow, but I didn't match the style, so I sold it...but I ended up really liking this dress...and...I EVENTUALLY got to do the Halloween shoot ^_^

5) AATP x Yoh cutsew

I have a friend who's totally into the AATP x Yoh items...so after seeing all of the ones she had, I came across this Rapunzel one and fell in love with it ;)

Only problem...I have Nothing to wear with it...but...hopefully one day I'll figure something out, it's just too pretty & that art is Amazing ^_^

6) AATP x Sentimental Circus

I was just getting into the Sentimental Circus chars, I had a few notebooks...and then...of course, 

AATP releases a collab with them...and so, after seeing sneak peek pics from a fashion show, I decided to reserve the bolero/jacket...

Only problem...it was INSANELY popular...and so...it ended up being a battle...and...the jacket was sold out in a matter of minutes O_O

So...I resorted to just getting the Hat...but I really love it a lot, so i'm happy...for now...I still want the jacket one day... ;)

Of course the first time I wore it was for a Kodona outfitfor a fun Purikura outing ^_^

7) Super Groupies x Kuroshitsuji

I had recently started adding A LOT of Japanese artists, stores, fanpages to my facebook list and it was good timing b/c I came across an amazing site that does Anime collabs and when I saw the Kuroshitsuji shoes line...i NEEDED IT!!!

I had pretty much decided on the Sebastian pair b/c of the cutlery & it'd be easy to incorporate into Lolita outfits ^^ So, I did a reserve with my usual SS ;)

 And it was a preorder so when it finally came, i quickly opened it...and...this collab piece...did NOT disappoint...the details are AMAZING and the fit & comfort is perfect ^_^

 And when I was doing my wardrobe post, I flipped over the show & there's stuff on the bottom too...so elaborate & amazing ^_^

8) IW x Rozen Maiden

When the Rozen Maiden x IW collab pieces came out, they were soooo expensive...I just couldn't get anything...

And then...just recently, IW had a sale and a BUNCH of the Rozen Maiden items were on it O_O

So, I had already wanted the Kanariya headpiece from before...but I also decided to get the Kanariya bolero as part of my trying to get more coordinating pieces & not just main ones ^^

And it's beautiful ^^

a light fabric with a brocade print that would look amazing over dresses & skirts ^_^

I haven't coorded with it yet, but I definitely will XD

Anyways, those are my collab items so far....but I always get excited when I see new collab announcements...especially with Anime series ^_^

I really hope there are many more in the future!!

Lolita Wardrobe Post 2015

Last year I was super late with this, so I vowed to at least try to get it done in Jan...& looks like I'll just make it ;)

Anyways, it's time for the highly anticipated Lolita Wardrobe Post ^_^

Looking back at my Year in Lolita ^_^

Well, it's New Year's Eve here still, so I wanted to do a look back at my Year in Lolita ^_^
Basically, my style is still the same, Classic w/ some Sweet Elements (mainly teddy bears), but This year I really started combining Lolita with my other fashions, like Dolly Kei, Shironuri...and...COSPLAYS XDD

In fact, I've put together a bunch of Lolitafied Cosplays this year, some just for at home, but a few I wore to events & people seemed to like them ^^

And after reading the description...it's soo true... 

The realm of an experienced Lolita! You've probably been active in the fashion for a number of years, have a fairly large and diverse wardrobe, and have attended (and hosted!) your fair share of Lolita events. You're most likely well-known within your local, and online, communities. You're probably practically an expert on the fashion and have probably introduced, or at least guided, a few friends along the right path in the fashion. Your next step is most likely to do a closet cleaning or some wardrobe organization because you probably have a few years of accumulated clothes. 

The Biggest thing I haven't done yet is actually go into a Lolita Clothing Store...BUT! In June, I'll be going to Japan, so That will finally be marked off my list of things to do ^_^ But, as I was going through the questions, a bunch of them I only just did this past year or last year, so it's nice to see that i'm progressing & getting more involved in Lolita XD

Anyways, here's a collage of my outfits from this year...not all of them are good pictures, but that's b/c I kept forgetting to get pics of myself at the events.

Ah, after looking at these again, I noticed that I've been using a lot of different colored wigs with my outfits ;D A bunch of them were originally for cosplays, but they work so well with Lolita ^^



And the big Lolita event of the year was meeting Misako, twice: Once for Kon & then just recently she was the guest at a tea party ^_^

 Heh, anyways, I keep adding to my style, so hopefully Next year will be Lolita filled as well & there will be MANY more Lolitafied Cosplays ;D
