LBC: Lolita and You in 8 Years

This week's Topic is "Lolita and You in 8 years" 

And...actually, in 8 years, i'll be nearing another very important "decade", so this topic is good for me to think about ;)

In my mind, I really want to keep wearing Lolita, but...there might be major changes in my life, so things may have to change a bit...

1) STYLE

Luckily, I generally gravitate toward Classic Lolita coords, so it's not like i'll have to sell a bunch of sweet prints...but...i have A LOT of prints, which later on, may be harder to pull off...so I've been slowly thinking about finding more solid pieces, maybe more layering pieces even ;)

 Jumper style dresses may be good for a mature/casual look ^^

 Also, dresses with full ruffled skirts would make great pieces to subtly wear under casual dresses ;)

As long as there aren't too many bows or ribbons on the front.

And lastly, these "Room dresses" have so many layering possibilities and have many Versatile pieces would be good...in case I feel like dressing up ;D

2) COLORS

I've actually already been thinking about this recently, but i'm trying to stay away from bright/pastel colors and stick to more muted tones...or jewel tones as that gives a more elegant look ;)

 The stripes on this piece add a more mature look to the dress and the print on the bottom is subtle, but still stands out ;)

Atelier Pierrot's Nutcracker OP in black

I just got this piece and it's sooo easy to coordinate with ^_^

It can be dressed down with a coverup over...or dressed up w/ an elaborate blouse ;)

And lastly, 3) PRINTS

I don't want to even THINK about the day I'll have to get rid of my beautiful printed items...but...it will probably come...slowly, but surely :/

Especially overall prints...unless they're subtle enough...or elaborate border prints may have to go as well...

I JUST got this, but I can already tell that it may have to go b/c the print is very prominent...BUT...i'm going to wear it as much as I can before then ;)

Mirage in Pradox that i OBSESSED over until I got it...but...the print is way too bold & it'll be hard to dress it down...

Holy Night Story...I LOVE this & finally got to wear it, but I can already tell that eventually, it'll be too sweet for me...

Tea Time Ala Carte salopette

Yeah...all sweet prints will probably need to go one day & this one's really short too, so it's more of a childish style...

And...i REALLY don't want to think about it...but...MAYBE...my Teddy Bear prints...O_O

We all have to grow up some time...& right now I can get away with it, but who knows for how much longer...sigh...

Also...maybe i'd have to sell a lot of my awesome bag collections...I have a thing for collecting "shaped bags", to match all my prints ;)

but, anyways,  that was truly depressing to think of...only because I JUST got into wearing Lolita 3 or 4 years ago...I feel like I haven't had enough time to experiment with all my pieces...or even have a wardrobe I'm Completely satisfied with...but...then, i also thought...

Since i'm the same age as a few of the Lolita models...if they can keep wearing it, SO CAN I ^_^

SO...

I guess only time will tell! XD

LBC: 3 Prints In Your Favorite Colorway

For this week's theme, I decided to go a little opposite & pick 3 Colors I like...and 3 corresponding prints in those colors...since I've been into expanding my wardrobe by adding more colors I don't have ^_^

1) The EPIC Phantom Merry Go Round print and of course I want it in my FAVORITE color, PURPLE X GOLD ^_^

I probably would want this print in any color, but I'm LOVING the plum purple color w/ the gold print and the black ruffle hem makes it so perfect!!

When this print first showed up in the black x white colorway in the GLB, I thought I would only want that colorway...but then, later, they came out with more colors...and adding to the usual Blue, White, etc...& then they added Purple, so that INSTANTLY became a Favorite XDD

Plus, this colorway is really versatile & you can do an outfit around Gold, Black or Purple ;D

2) Nostalgic Tea Time in GREEN!

This print Actually, didn't really impress me when it first came out...but then...my friend gave me a postcard of Midori wearing it O_O....AND it gets added to the wishlist RIGHT AWAY ;)  

But, besides my weakness of wanting everything Midori wears (I still need to do my post about that), Green is also my Birthstone color, Emerald for May ;D And when I turned 18, my mom gave me some emerald jewelry, but I haven't worn it a lot because it doesn't match my wardrobe...so if I have a LOLITA dress with Green, I can DEFINITELY wear my jewelry with it ^_^

3) BABY Clockwork Tea Party in Red

I DO have a lot of Red in many of my printed dresses...but I don't have an actual RED DRESS yet ;P

And, my mom & sister always told me that Red looks really good on Asians, so I started to think I SHOULD get a Red Lolita dress one day ^^

This print I fell in love with right away...but so must have everyone else b/c I Rarely see it for sale...and when I do, it's always in the other colorways...

And the print itself has ALL MY LOVES in it ;)

-Tea Party theme covers my love of Alice in Wonderland...the checkered print is part of this too 

-There are TEDDY BEARS on the print, which will forever be my obsession...

-There's a clock theme too or maybe clock accessories, which makes me think of Steampunk, which i'm into as well ^^

-OOH, & BUTTERFLIES!! Another Love of mine ^^

LBC: Nature Themed Coordinate

This week's challenge is to make a Nature Themed Coordinate...which ended up REALLY being a challenge...mainly b/c I keep selling all of my actual floral printed Lolita dresses & skirts...sigh...so, I had to think a little out of the box, but I came up with something I can be happy with ;D

I was googling random "Nature" things, including poems when I came across one talking about gathering flowers, so I decided to make the theme of my outfit:

"Flower Gatherer"

With elements of flowers, fruits & animals ^^

 Blouse: Meta

JSK: Lady Sloth

Tights: Grimoire

Headpiece: embellished by me

shoes, basket purse, cage: offbrand

 Necklace: Emily Temple Cute

 Cute berry handmade(not by me) haircomb I used to pin up the chiffon layer

 Verum Tights w/ animal print ^^

And a cage I got at a garage sale that I figured would be good to keep the flowers in ;)

I'd like to possibly try this outfit on one day just to see how it would really look...& maybe do a photoshoot ^^

LBC: New Years Resolutions for Lolita Fashion in 2014

Well, it's been a WHILE since I last did an LBC post...but...things were a bit crazy & work takes up ALL of my Time nowadays...but...I felt like this particular theme was important for me...Especially, since I tend to "impulse buy" or "buy too much"...so I'd like to be better in 2014 ^^

Basically, I spent the year hunting down/finding & acquiring a lot of Main Pieces that were on my wishlist, SO! I'd like to focus on getting Accessories & other Coord pieces to go with my main pieces...here's a short list of what i'll hopefully be looking for ;)

1) Find more Hair pieces!!

A big problem for me is I wait till the last minute to put together an outfit for an event...& the last thing I end up deciding on is my hair accessory. ;)  I've managed to get a few basic ones, like a couple rectangle headdresses, some hairclips & bonnets...but...they don't go with everything...so, sometimes i've actually Made My Own a day or 2 before an outing...which isn't very good & I can't really do it too often due to work...

But, here are some ideas of what i'll be looking for:

 Round headdresses/Canotiers: I really need some of these...I made one once, but like I said, I don't have as much time as I used to...

 And headdresses with Veils ;) I really adore this style & would love to find a nice one to match most of my pieces...for that classic feel ^^

And also just headbands in general with flowers or beads...maybe I can try to make at least one on my own, but I'd LOVE to own some brand pieces ;)

Other items would be the side headbows (i don't match the alice style) & berets & hats ;D

Lately, berets have been my go-to for accessories, so i'd like to get some nice brand ones...although, offbrand works just as well ^^

2) More Lolita Style Shoes XDD

I already have a good pair of Rocking Horse shoes, some boots & some heels, but, sometimes i'll default to flats just b/c there'll be a lot of walking or...my lolita shoes don't match my outfit...

So! I'd really like to get more Colored Lolita shoes, like my gold boots that i've been wearing a lot ;)

Tea Party Shoes ^_^ At first, I didn't like these, but then after attempting to walk around with my oxfords...i now see the appeal of having some flatter cute lolita shoes to walk in & match all my outfits too ^^ Not sure what colors I'd want...yet...but probably black first & then maybe a mint or lavender ;)

Bordello Boots!! My friend has the black ones, but i WANT either Red or Purple...I actually have a lot of red in my wardrobe so that would match perfectly...but purple's my favorite color & would match more of my gothic lolita items, particularly h.Naoto Honey ;D

And then, some specific Lolita shoes I'm after: 

AATP Circus shoes: I know everyone was selling them, but they never had the size/color I wanted...but I'd like either White or Navy ;)

IW Playing Cards Chocolate shoes: These would be to match all my chocolate prints that I've been getting ^^

And then...These Crown Shoes!! I've been in love with them ever since I saw that GLB vol 4(US version) as well as the imported version (forgot which vol)

 3) Kodona Items

I've been wanting to really try Kodona for a long time now...mainly influenced by Midori ;)

But a big problem of mine is that I don't fit a lot of the pants sadly...

I already have a bunch of nice ruffly blouses & vests, but some good Kodona pants allude me :/

I even have good wigs b/c I cosplay Ciel & might do a few more crossplays ^^

but...if not the actual brand items, maybe I can find or make something similar...

These are the styles I like:

I actually got to see this worn in person...by none other than Reika...so...I know the waist is SMALL O_O but I love the style of it anyways ;)

 These SHOULD be able to fit me, so I just may give in & get them before it sells out...I kind of want them for a photoshoot idea with some friends as well ;)

 Even this jumper set appeals to me sooo much...& that clock gives it the white rabbit vibe...i'm a HUGE fan of Alice in Wonderland items ;D

But THIS!! IS MY ULTIMATE DREAM Kodona outfit ^_^ The reserves for it was INSANE, but I managed to snag the hat and b/c as usual, the pants don't fit me...I'm hoping later this year, I can get the bolero...which is what i really wanted, but it sold out soo fast ;P

And last, but not least 

4) BLOUSES!!

I've also managed to get a few brand blouses, mainly BABY & Atelier Pierrot, but a lot of my older bodyline ones are getting discolored...especially the detachable sleeves ones...so i'd like to find replacements for those...either brand or Bodyline ;)

And also, I'd like to find more colors as well...I've managed to just use some great Loliable ones from Goodwill, but some nice actual Lolita blouses would of course make the dresses look even better ^^

 And fun collars are always great ^^

Also, It'd be good to have more boleros or cardigans in case I don't want to wear a long sleeve blouse ;)

Of course there are a few exceptions, such as other items from my wishlist, which include bags, jewelry, SUPER DREAM PRINTS, & so on...

Also, I'm a HUGE sucker for anything Teddy Bear, so that might definitely grab my attention...and then the usual MUST HAVE PRINT releases, but i'll try to be really good & NOT impulse buy those... ;)

The dangers will always be sites like the FB & comm sales as well as Closet Child, which I check every time they update ;) But, I'm pretty satisfied with my wardrobe pieces for now & now i'd just like to add more...filler items to my coords ^_^
