Well, it finally came...our HEXXP weekend ^^ Hexxp, or the Hawaii Entertainment Expo was put together by a friend's husband, so of course I went to support XD &...it was pretty fun ^_^
The main attractions were the guests from Japan: Visual Kei band, ALSDEAD & guitar legend Takashi Ohashi.
And now a brief breakdown of my weekend:
DAY1: I wore my Steampunk Lolita...since the theme of the con was steampunk...& sadly the first thing was that my friend(& ride) decided not to go the first day...she wasn't feeling well :( But, luckily, her husband could still give me a lift to the con ;) Anyways, it's still fairly small & new, but there was an artist alley, gaming room, maid cafe, video room & main events room :D Everything was all in separate rooms except the gaming & AA were partly connected. & I spent the day going from room to room...mainly staying in the AC'd main events ;) & following the photogs around ^^
There weren't a whole bunch of people until the afternoon (when school got out)...& then @ night...there was the AWESOME ALSDEAD concert XD This was the main attraction for the weekend b/c ALSDEAD was actually filming their newest video while in Hawaii ^^ & part of it was during the concert! But, besides that, they were sooo amazingly good...& even though my feet were killing me from wearing heels all day, i still jumped around like crazy & rocked out :D The concert ran about 2hrs or so...& it was actually the drummer's bday, so we all sang happy bday, they caked the drummer, did an encore...& then, they had their autograph session, which was almost too much for me...sooo pretty...& nice...& they shook my hand...*dies of happiness* ^^

DAY 2:
This was the more stressful day...b/c...we had our Japanese Fashion show...& along w/ being a co-helper, I was also one of the models O_O
So, the whole morning i was just hanging out during the panels: voice actor Kyle Herbert, Takashi Ohashi & ALSDEAD panels...but i was still super nervous up until the show...which went pretty well, i think ;) We had a full house & we were a little ahead of our music...BUT...it seemed like people liked it, so that was good ^^ It was mainly to spread more of the less popular japanese faashions, like Dolly-Kei & Fairy-Kei ;)
My dolly-kei outfit :D The other thing was that I was FIRST...& Last...so, i was freaking out...a bit...but overall, it was lots of fun & i wouldn't mind being a "runway" model again ^_^ I think all my photoshoots helped me prepare...@ least for the posing part...i still had some issues w/ walking...sigh...i guess we'll find out for sure when we all watch the video...which hopefully will be posted on youtube eventually ^^
Then, the rest of the day was more panels (we did a brief Intro to Japanese Fashions panel), Cosplay contest, closing ceremonies...& it was SUPPOSED to be another filming day, but the band were previewing their video & stuff, so they didn't come back :( BUT...instead...they were giving out free CDs of their old label: Dice and Joker, just for being videotaped & saying a greeting to the band :D We were all being silly making hearts & stuff, but it was sooo worth it...the cd is AWESOME!!

& of course...My Loot ^^ Mostly ALSDEAD stuff, but I spent most of my money on the awesome Steampunk corset belt...& I found a cute Yuki bottlecap pendant which I HAD to have :D There were sooo many pretty things though, so next year, i'll definitely make sure i have extra spending money ;)
