I hadn't gone in Years...but I finally got to go to the festival this year w/ my mom, my sister & her family & it was just as wonderful as I remember XD Lots of good food...fun kids games...& even a crafts tent ^^ There was also entertainment, but we were too busy walking around...then, we sat down & ate ;D Alright, here are the pics:
My nephew, Joseph Jr. playing Fish Pond ^^ He's 4yrs old ;)
Some of the inflatable bouncers they had...
Even more bouncers...there were quite a bit O_O
The main stage in the background...showing how crowded this festival can get...
More crowds by the Food booths XD
My sister prepping food for Jr.
Joseph Sr. relaxing after lunch ;D
Me chowing down on a humongous Andagi...soooo yummy ^_^
My loot from the Festival: Pretty embellished hair clip & cute shirt that says "Okinawan Kokeshi" I had to get it ^^
What I wore to the festival ^^
My prize from playing a kids game called Snake Hunt...was WAY harder than it looks O_O Imagine digging through a gigantic mound of strips of paper...to find not 1, but 3 plastic toy snakes...sigh...my arm was so sore afterwards XP but I got a cute bear out of it, so it was worth it ^^
P.S. In case you were curious, I am half Okinawan, half Japanese...my mom's side is Okinawan...& we actually have a club & i grew up going to the festival every year...& even helping sometimes...in the Andadog booth XD it's always good to experience some of my heritage & I really hope i can go again next year...if anything, just for the amazing food: Andagi, Andadog, Yakisoba, Yakitori, Shave Ice, etc etc... ;D
